Everyone should plan to arrive a half hour early on the first day. The training is generally from 9AM to 5PM every day, including the last day, except for events held outside of the Prajna Studio.
Before you arrive
We would appreciate it if you could complete the Health Questionnaire and Waiver of Liability attached in your Welcome letter prior to your arrival in Santa Fe. If you have recently attended a Prajna event and nothing has changed with your health status, you do not need to fill that form in again. Only, fill it out again if you have had a change in your health or have a health concern that Tias and Surya should be aware of.
Please review the Prajna Yoga Etiquette before you arrive.
Santa Fe Climate
Santa Fe is considered high desert and is generally dry and sunny. Sunscreen is recommended year round. It is also recommended to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and to help avoid problems with the altitude. We are in the mountains so weather can be unpredictable. The temperature typically changes by 30 degrees in a single day.
What to Bring
Since the temperatures in the mountains vary greatly, bring a variety of clothing weights. Layering works well so you can easily add to or take off what is needed. Please bring comfortable clothes for yoga and meditation. Also please bring a yoga mat. We will supply the props. You do not need to bring books from the recommended reading list. A manual, snacks, water, tea and a vegetarian lunch will be provided.
Transportation daily to and from the venue
You are responsible for your transportation to and from the event venue daily. Students can work out carpooling arrangements with each other on the first day of class. If you will need a ride, go to the hotel lobby to meet other students. If you have a car and are willing to drive, go to the hotel lobby on the first morning to find other students who may need a ride.
For events held at the Prajna studio, parking space is limited so please pull your car all the way forward and close together as possible. For this reason we encourage carpooling. Park mindfully so that as many cars as possible can get into the lot – please refer to the Parking Map. No cars should be parked outside the wall.
Meals
For Teacher Trainings held at the Prajna studio, lunch will be served daily at the studio. If you have special dietary restrictions, please let us know ahead of time at the office. Our lunches are always vegetarian with a focus on natural, organic ingredients. Surya feels strongly that it is important to eat well while in the training. Also, there will be teas and snacks available throughout the day.
