|SATYA Training: Level 1 | 9:30-5:30pm daily *Last day ends at 1:00 PM
Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement (SATYA) practices compliment asana practice while deeply restoring the body. They open the joint spaces, build sensory-motor awareness, re-educate the neural-muscular system and help develop bi-lateral symmetry. This training lays out the essentials for how to sequence the SATYA movements and how to combine them with asana. We learn how to practice and teach the movements beginning with the simplest forms and leading to greater complexity. We study the healing potential of the movements and their effects on the Five Sheaths. In addition we show how to manually adjust the forms in order to facilitate greater release.
To enroll in the SATYA Training program we suggest a few of the following workshops to help familiarize with SATYA.
-Completion of Sessions I-III of the Prajna Yoga Teacher Training
-Attendance at Prajna Yoga workshops with Tias and Surya (in Santa Fe and other locations)
-Well seasoned yoga practitioner
-Studies related to sensory awareness such as Rolfing, Feldenkrais Method, Somatics, etc.
Level 1 is open to all students after they have completed and emailed firstname.lastname@example.org the Application and Information Form. Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2 and 3.
